Does Integration Really Matter For Enterprise ShippingIf you read this blog each week, you probably know that I am a HUGE supported of integrating your enterprise shipping function with the rest of your business systems.

But does integration REALLY matter for shipping?

To find out, take the following quiz.

  1. Is your company looking for ways to improve the number of packages shipped out each day?
  2. Is your customer service department tired of answering the question, "Where is my order?"
  3. Does someone in your shipping department have to rekey every order into your shipping software before the order can be processed?
  4. Have you ever shipped a package to the wrong address or an incorrect address due to a typo in the shippind address?
  5. In the last six months, have you experienced any shipping delays or shipping failures as a result of incorrect international or hazardous materials paperwork?
  6. In the last six months have you been charged any fees or fines as a result of missing or incorrect shipping paperwork?
  7. Does your organization currently have an ecommerce site or plan to launch one in the next six months?

 

Okay, now count up your "yes" responses.

If you answered even one of the above questions with a "yes," your organiaztion could benefit from integrating your ecommerce function with the rest of your business. If you answered yes to three of the seven questions, your need for integration is pressing. Answer them all in the affirmative? Your need for integration is critical.

Integrating your shipping function with the rest of your business will save you time, money and costly shipping errors. If you aren't integrated--your missing a huge opportunity to impact your bottom line.
